For the 2-day Sun Route experience, the journey begins at 5:30 AM in Hostal Andenes del Sol in Cusco’s central area.
For the return journey from Puno to Cusco, the pickup point is in the main square, next to the Church, 5:30 AM.

Each passenger may bring one suitcase (max 23kg/50lbs) and one small personal item. We recommend packing essentials for the overnight stay in a separate day pack for easy access, as your main luggage will remain in the secure compartment of our vehicle during stops.

Essential items include: warm clothing (layers are recommended as temperatures vary greatly in the Andes), comfortable walking shoes, sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen), basic toiletries for the overnight stay, any personal medications, a camera, and local currency for souvenirs or optional expenses. Don’t forget to pack a warm jacket as Palcoyo altitude reaches 4,900m and temperatures can drop significantly.

The Sun Route operates year-round, but weather conditions in the Andes can be unpredictable. In case of light rain or overcast conditions, tours proceed as normal (we provide ponchos if needed). In rare cases of severe weather that could compromise safety at high-altitude locations like Palcoyo, we may modify the itinerary to visit alternative attractions. Full cancellations are rare and would qualify for rebooking or refund.

Yes, the 2-day tour includes 4 meals: lunch and dinner on Day 1, breakfast and lunch on Day 2. All meals feature authentic local cuisine, with vegetarian options available (please notify us in advance of dietary requirements). Breakfast at your Cusco hotel on Day 1 and dinner in Puno on Day 2 are not included.

Accommodation is in a traditional family home (casa vivencial) in the Raqchi community. Rooms are simple but clean and comfortable, typically with shared bathroom facilities. This authentic homestay experience allows you to connect with local culture and daily life. The families are experienced hosts who provide clean bedding and basic amenities, though we recommend bringing your own toiletries.

Yes, we also offer an express service between Cusco and Puno without tourist stops for travelers with time constraints. These services depart daily with morning (7:00 AM) and overnight (10:00 PM) options. The direct journey takes approximately 6-7 hours.
